Jean GAUTHIER, Father Denis Gauthier current CEO of the distillery, a founded the distillery 1968. With this tradition it is a real expertise distiller we offer.

At the heart of the fruit

Thanks to its location in the heart of the Rhone Valley, Distillery JEAN GAUTHIER has become in thirty years a major player in the production of fruit brandy and particularly in Williams pear brandy.

Quality control

The development of a brandy is : receiving fruit, control maturity, grinding, fermentation, distillation, storage, assembly and aging, setting the degree, filtration and bottling. Each step in the process is subject to strict control and traceability of the entire sector.

A powerful tool

With a dynamic team 25 permanent employees reinforced season and a very powerful tool, Distillery JEAN GAUTHIER distills each year 500 000 litres A.P. of living waters perry, cherry, prune, raspberry, apricot, etc… Part of this production is then bottled.

The Alembic Museum

More than 150 000 visitors this year…

At the heart of the Rhone Valley in Saint Désirat, the Alembic's Distillery Museum JEAN GAUTHIER, tells the charm and history of a vanished past, that of traveling distillers.

Sure 1400 m2 of exhibition, beautiful copper devices from the four corners of France, and a collection of materials, utensils and other tools are in 30 tables memory of part of our rural heritage.
In flowing through the museum you will discover, the DISTILLERIE JEAN GAUTHIER: the distillation workshop, the bottling chain, one of our aging cellars and the entire manufacturing process through a slide show of digital images. At the end of the visit, a free tasting of our products will be proposed.
